IB Diploma
The IB Diploma programme, which is proving increasingly popular with both universities and employers, provides Sixth Form students at Taunton School with an attractive alternative to taking A Levels.
This two-year course is a holistic programme with a particular emphasis on independent learning and a questioning approach to knowledge. The IB Diploma is popular with students who recognise the benefits of taking a broad range of subjects in the Sixth Form. It is a challenging course that is particularly suited to those who enjoy the freedom to think, without the restriction of modular exams. While the IB Diploma is ideal for the most able students, the courses are accessible to all students who are well motivated and willing to work hard and gain good study skills.
Offering this international qualification fits with the school's aim to prepare young people to shape the world in the 21st century.
